With New Zealand, it was love at first sight! I was instantly captivated by the fascinating biodiversity here and deeply impressed by the strong commitment of New Zealanders to protect their natural heritage. During my numerous trips across the archipelago, I discovered rare and endangered species, some of the oldest on our planet. These species are diligently protected by the DOC, the Iwi, and countless volunteers and associations. Without their dedication and involvement, much of this fragile wildlife would be extinct today.
