You probably already know about rugby, sheep, and the incredible landscapes from The Lord of the Rings…
But did you know that New Zealand is home to some of the rarest and oldest animals on our planet?
Like tuataras (reptiles) and Leiopelma frogs that survived the extinction of the dinosaurs, or the strangest creatures like the kakapo and the kiwi, those peculiar birds that no longer fly and are nocturnal, or even surprising little bats that scurry on the ground!
For six seasons, I lived alongside the rangers, scientists, and volunteers who save the endangered species of this archipelago. I joined them on their expeditions into the highest mountains and the most secretive islands.
With this book, I take you to some of the most protected areas in the world to meet the rarest, most fascinating, and funniest animals, and their incredible protectors, whose passion, dedication, and inventiveness are devoted to the preservation of endangered species.
This second title in my Géniale Nature collection was published in 2016 by our publishing company SABINE & SES COPAINS, with the support of the France/New Zealand Friendship Fund.
It was printed in France by ESCOURBIAC.
