My friend, the talented painter Georges Pagès, and I designed this exhibition to convey our shared message through our two artistic visions, each using different imaging techniques.
Through photography, I document the biodiversity of distant regions, capturing animals in their natural habitats with realism. I connect with my subjects; the gazes we exchange reflect the emotion of the encounter—interest, astonishment, joy, tenderness…
Through painting, Georges immerses my subjects in compositions that highlight another aspect of their lives: the dangers posed by human activities. Deforestation, which continuously reduces their habitats, even in remote lands, and pollution, which disrupts the food chain…
Together, we aim to evoke emotion: my photographs raise awareness of the beauty of animals, deep within primary forests or remote areas of the world.
And concern: Georges’ paintings highlight the dire future awaiting many of our subjects—and us, by extension—due to human insensitivity and irresponsibility.
We also bring hope: our exhibition showcases the efforts of those dedicated to nature conservation, offering sources of inspiration for everyone.
We first unveiled the artistic works born from our collaboration in a joint exhibition presented in 2019 at the Lanterne Cultural Center in Rambouillet.
