“African Encounters” is my very first book, published in 2008 by Timée-Editions.
For two years, I traveled across southern Africa, meeting passionate individuals who lead projects for the protection and rehabilitation of endangered African wildlife. In South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia, I explored reserves, discovered their richness, and shared the daily lives of those who fight for African wildlife. I captured images of rare moments and gathered these human and animal encounters in this book that changed my life.
I tell the stories of Brian Jones, Lente Roode, Eugene Cussons, Laurie Marker, Maria Diekmann, Olivier Houalet, who dedicate their lives to animal causes; and Nelson the Vulture, CP the Cheetah, Jabulani the Elephant, and Amadeus the Chimpanzee, who have become ambassadors for their endangered species.
This book is now out of print.
